For Lazy F*cks: How to not be Lazy

For Lazy F*cks: How to not be Lazy

Sometimes, it's rough.
I feel drained and can't understand why.
I feel powerless.
I can't muster any energy.
I just want to lie down, eat junk, watch Netflix, and waste time.

You probably know this feeling.

— We all know this feeling.

What about a way …
to simply put on the starter & get the engine running warm quickly?

Because the last thing we want to do when we’re lazy
is doing hard and challenging things.

What is the Engine?

Think of your body as an engine.
You know, like in a car.

Pushing a cold engine hard can cause damage.
Cold oil is thicker and doesn't flow well,
so it takes longer to lubricate the engine's parts properly.

Just like you don’t want to do things when you’re feeling lazy.

In your body, the heart and your gut (solar plexus center) are like an engine.
The solar plexus produces & mobilizes energy.
The heart moves the energy where it's needed.

mobilizing = getting things ready to be moved.
moving = moving the things.

When you have no energy, you need to get the engine warm,
focus on mobilizing enough energy rather than just moving the energy.

How do you do this?

Mobilizing Energy by Movement

You can use simple lunges.
Just do lunges. Do a couple of them.

The goal here, is to create rythmic movement in your digestive tract.
By stepping forward, while simultaniously having one leg back, you stretch & strengthen all core muscles.

Especially the Psoas muscle (see in the picture) get’s a good round of oscillation.

Why not Squats? Because the diagonally opposed legs while doing lunges,
create more pumping force.

Stand up — do 20 lunges. I like them knee over toe.

Hydrating Properly

This is elementary school.
But we are still chronically dehydrated.
Why? Because we don’t know when we are.

When we are dehydrated, we tend to feel energy-less.
Our blood runs thicker, which literally means it is im-mobilized.

It is not enough to simply “drink more water”
— You’re pissing that out straight away.

Put some sea- or Himalayan salt into your water.
Just a pinch. Your body will be much more able to absorb the water.

Or eat a freaking cucumber,
or other fruits (yes cucumber is a fruit lol).

Cucumbers are crazy good for hydration,
because the water is structured within a cell.

Add some pinch of salt to that friggin cucumber, & you have
THE ULTIMATE HANGOVER CURE.

We went deeper on hydration in the “Safe” doesn't equal Good: A Simple Hydration Guide episode.

Getting your internals(engine) lubricated means:

  • providing enough fluids — hydration,
  • and then get the fluids running at temperature — movement.
  • Also: don't be lazy. It's a mental thing too.

You are now ready and willing to move.

Kiss Kiss, Tarkan
